1 1/2 c Unsifted all purpose flour
1 tsp alt
1 tsp Baking soda
1 c Crisco
1 c Light brown sugar firmly packed
1/2 c Granulated sugar
1 tsp Vanilla
2 Eggs
2 c Old Fashioned rolled oats
(Recipe calls for 1 pkg 12 oz semisweet chocolate chips we prefer the rasins)
12 oz Rasins or more if you want

Preheat oven to 350 deg
Grease cookie sheets
Combine flour, salt and baking soda on waxed paper
Beat together shorting, both sugars and vanilla in a large bowl with electric mixer until creamy
Add eggs, beating until light and fluffy
Gradually beat in flour and rolled oats
Stir in rasins (or chocolate chips if preferred)
Drop batter by well rounded teaspoon full onto greased cookie sheet
Bake for 8 to 10 min or until golden brown
Cool cookies on sheet on wire rack for 2 min
Remove cookies to wire rack to cool completly
