3 1/2 cup flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 1/2 t. soda
2 t. salt
1/2 t. nutmeg
2 t. cinnamon
1 1/2 cup shortening
3 large eggs
2 cups mashed ripe bananas
3 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 cup chopped nuts
1 t. almond extract
2 t. vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º. In a large bowl combine eggs, shortening, sugars,salt, spices, bananas and flavoring. Add soda and mix well. Add flour and oats mixing well. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake approximately 15 minutes or until edges turn slightly brown.
