Crust: make a full crust for bottom, and lattice for the top.

1 1/2 c raisins - boiling water
6 eggs
1 1/2 c sugar
1/2 c coarsely chopped walnuts
1/4 c lemon juice
/4 c butter, melted
/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp salt

375º oven

To plump raising, in a mixing bowl cover raisin's with boiling water and let stand 5 minutes: drain.

In a mixing bowl slightly beat eggs, stir in sugar, nuts, lemon juice, butter and spices, salt & raisins. Mix well.

Partially bake bottom shell, about 5 minutes. Take out of oven. Pour filling into shell and cover with lattice top.

To prevent over browning cover edges of pie with foil.

Bake 375º for 20 minutes, take out of oven, remove foil from edges. Bake another 20 minutes.

Insert knife in center to check doneness. If it comes out clean, remove from oven, put on cooling rack.
