2 cups sugar
1 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup water
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons butter
2 1/2 cups raw peanuts
2 tablespoons vanilla
2 teaspoons soda

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, corn syrup, water, salt and butter together in heavy saucepan. Cover and heat until boiling point is reached. Then uncover and cook to soft ball stage and add peanuts. Stir frequently to prevent scorching. Cook to hard crack stage. Mixture should smoke and be a deep caramel color. Remove quickly. Add soda and vanilla. Pour out on a buttered biscuit sheet to cook. Break into pieces.
