3 egg whites
pinch salt
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. chocolate wafer crumbs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1 c. whipping cream (whipped and sweetened)

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg whites and salt until they stand in soft peaks. Add sugar gradually beating until stiff peaks form. Fold in crumbs, vanilla, and nuts. Spoon evenly into lightly buttered 9 inch pie pan. Bake at 375 F about 35 minutes. Cool completely. Spread top with sweetened whipped cream. Chill thoroughly for three or four hours. To serve, garnish with curls of shaved unsweetened chocolate. (This came from Aunt Eutha right after Joe and I married in 1961.)
