2 c brown sugar, packed
1 c Softened butter
2 eggs
1 t vanilla
1 t. creme of tartar
1 t baking soda
3 - 3 1/2 c flour
1/2 c nuts chopped fine (Your choice)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and then vanilla
Measure and add dry ingredients. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture until dough starts to ball and clean sides of bowl. It too much flour is added, the cough will be too crumbly to cut.
Divide and form into rolls. Wrap each in foil or saran wrap. Refrigerate overnight. Slice 1/4" thin - ungreased cookie sheet. (electric knife works well for cutting).
Will keep in frige for several days.
Bake 375 degrees - Approx 8 minutes til light brown.
