Ingredients: 2 c. butter, softened 3 c. white sugar 6 eggs 1 t. vanilla extract 3 c. all purpose flour 1/4 t. baking soda 1/2 t. salt 1 c. sour cream 1 T confectioner's sugar for dusting or make a simple glaze with a c. of powdered sugar, vanilla, and water to make a glaze and pour over top of bread while still warm.

Directions:1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 10' bundt pan or 9 " tube pan. 2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and white sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt. Mix into the batter just until smooth. Stir in sour cream. Spoon batter into the prepared pan, and spread evenly. 3. Bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Test with toothpick. Cool for at least 10 minutes before inverting onto a plate and tapping out the cake. Dust with powdered sugar or pour glaze over cake while still warm. |

Notes: You may change the flavor of the pound cake in the following ways: Use lemon, orange, or almond flavoring in place of vanilla. Then for glaze, do the following:
Mix 1 c. powdered sugar,3 swipes of lemon or orange zest and 1 t. of appropriate extract. Then add SMALL amount of liquid to obtain the right consistency and then pour over the cake. Sold in our 'More Than Cookies Bakery' in Jacksonville, Florida.
