2/3 C. butter of margarine
1 C. granulated sugar
1 egg
4 tsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 C. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking power
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg (truly the secret ingredient)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350
Cream butter and sugar,add egg, milk and vanilla, mix well.
set aside.
Mix flour, baking power, baking soda, salt and nutmeg.
Gradually add flour mixture to the sugar mixture, mixing well.
Chill dough, it rolls out easier.
Flour pastry cloth and rolling pin, roll to 1/8 inch thick.
Use cookie cutters.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes, depending on thickness of cookie.º
