Ingredients: Two cups chocolate wafer cookie crumbs 1/2 cup sugar (divided) 1/2 cup melted margarine 1 box (8 oz.) cream cheese - softened 1 large container Cool Whip - thawed 1 cup chopped chocolate covered candy bars (e.g., Snickers, etc.) 3 cups milk 2 boxes (3 oz. each) instant chocolate pudding.
Variation: -- Replace graham cracker crumbs for cookie crumbs --Replace fresh fruit (e.g., strawberries and bananas, etc.) for the candy bar --Replace instant vanilla pudding for the instant chocolate pudding

Directions:Mix cookie crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar and melted margarine. Press into a lightly greased 9x13-inch pan. Refrigerate for 10 minutes. Beat cream cheese and remaining 1/4 cup sugar until smooth. Gently stir in half of the topping. Spread evenly over the crust. Sprinkle chopped candy bar over the cream cheese layer. Pour milk into large bowl. Add pudding mix boxes. Beat with a wire whisk for 1 minute. Pour over chopped candy bar layer. Let stand for 5 minutes until thickened. Spread remaining Cool Whip topping over the pudding layer. Can top with candy bar shavings. Refrigerate until serving. |

Notes: My mom (Judy Mason) made this in the summer with the graham crackers, fruit and vanilla pudding (if this is done then put chopped fruit on top) - it was delicious and not a heavy, rich dessert.
