4 cups brown sugar
2 tbsp baking powder
1 cup milk
4 tbsp butter
dash of salt
dash of vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Put butter in pot to soften, add milk and sugar and bring to a boil. Boil to soft ball stage.
Remove from stove, add remaining ingredients and beat until thickened.
Pour onto a greased pan and cut into squares while still warm.

You'll know it's boiled long enough when you drop a bit into a cup of ice cold water and it makes a soft ball with a bit of string attached. If you don't boil it long enough it won't harden but it won't be a complete waste - it still tastes great on ice cream!
