1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and oil with an electric mixer. Add sugar, powdered sugar, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Beat until well blended. Beat in egg and vanilla. Then, beat in flour.
Cover and chill 4-24 hours or until dough is easy to handle.
Shape into small balls and place 2 inches apart on a parchment lined or ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten balls of dough with the bottom of a dampened glass. Bake cookies in a preheated 375º oven for 10-12 minutes or lightly browned.
