2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. light molasses
2 eggs

Sift the following:
4 c. flour
4 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Gradually blend 2 c. sugar into shortening. Mix until fluffy (about 5 minutes). Add molasses and eggs. At low speed, add flour mixture until well blended. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Roll into balls and roll in sugar. Bake at 350º for about 8 minutes or until light brown and beginning to crack on top.
