2 1/2 c. plain flour
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
2 tbs milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º
Cream butter, shortening, sugar; add egg and vanilla. Add dry ingredients, add milk. Drop by teaspoon on greased baking sheet. Flatten with bottom of a glass dipped in sugar. Bake for 12 minutes or until edges are brown.
