2 c. rolled oats
1 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. margarine (butter), melted
1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Combine oats, baking powder, salt and brown sugar, mix thoroughly. Add margarine and vanilla and blend thoroughly. Spread in an 8" square ungreased cake pan. Press down slightly with back of spoon. Bake until golden brown, about 25 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes, then cut in squares

I love this cake, although there is nothing in it. Grandma said it was something they made in the depression years, because it didn't need many ingredients.
