Ingredients:
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
1/4 c. vegetable oil
1 1/2 - 2 c. milk

Directions:
Mix all ingredients in large bowl until well combined. Batter will be slightly thick and lumpy (so do not add too much milk!). Grease waffle maker with Pam or shortening. Pour about a cup of the batter onto the waffle maker and follow waffle maker's directions for cook time. Mine takes about 3-5 minutes.

Personal Notes:
Nothing gets you up and out of bed early on a Saturday like Grandma's waffles; fluffy on the inside and a little bit of crisp on the outside. I have had this recipe for years, and yes, it is a wonderful waffle recipe by itself, but I could never figure out how to get my waffles to taste just like Grandma's. But I finally found the secret. It is her well used, but in perfect condition, waffle iron that makes all the difference. I know you all do not have this special ingredient, but I hope you enjoy these waffles as much as I do.
