1 cup brown sugar
1 cup molasses
1 cup shortening
2 eggs
3 T. buttermilk
1 T. soda
1 T. ginger
4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, add sugar, molasses and beaten eggs. Drop from a teaspoon on greased cookie sheets and bake at 350º about 10 minutes. The soft ginger cookies can be dressed up with frosting (recommended: cinnamon cream cheese).
