3 eggs separated
2 cups brown sugar
1 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup chopped English walnuts
1/2 tsp. Black pepper
1/2 tsp. baking soda 2 cups raisins
2 oz. Citron

2 cups of flour (to be added last)

Preheat oven to 350º
Grease Cookie Sheet

Mix dry ingredients, except flour, in large bowl. Beat egg yolks and add to dry ingredients, set aside.
Beat egg whites until stiff. Add to the rest of the dough.
Add flour slowly 1/2 cup at a time until cookie dough is stiff. ( you may not use the entire 2 cups)
Drop by tsp. onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350º for 8 minutes.

Makes 5 dozen
