5 quarts popped corn
4 cups sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1 cup water
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

Directions:
Directions:
Turn popped corn into bowl. Cook other ingredients to firm ball stage (245º on candy thermometer). Pour syrup over corn. Stirring gently to coat kernels. Butter bands & quickly shape corn into 3" balls makes 20 balls. Wrap in wax paper.
