4 1/2 cups Flour
2 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups Sugar
1 1/2 cups Brown Sugar
2 tbsp. Sour Cream
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
4 Large Eggs
2 (12 oz) packages semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:

Heat oven to 350º. Sift the flour, baking soda, and salt into a medium bowl. Using an electric mixer, beat the butter and shortening in a large bowl until fluffy. Add the sugar, brown sugar, sour cream, and vanilla, and beat to blend. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add the flour mixture. Fold in chocolate chips.

Drop batter by heaping tablespoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet- about two tablespoons of batter per cookie. You can bake six cookies per baking sheet. Bake until golden brown, about 14 minutes, rotating cookie sheets halfway through. cool on cookie sheets for 5 minutes. Transfer cookies to wire racks to cool completely. (Can make ice cream sandwiches out of these!)
