1 1/2 cup brown sugar.
3/4 cup Milk
1-cup Nuts
1 1/2 cup white sugar
1-cup chopped dates
2 T of Butter

Directions:
Directions:
Boil sugar and milk, until it forms a soft ball in cold water. Add dates and nuts. Boil until it forms a firm ball in cold water. Put in Butter and beat until it thickens. Pour the mixture out on a wet cloth. Roll up and let stand until hard. Cut in the size slices, you prefer. ENJOY.

I am proud to add this recipe. My Mother, Vera Kirk Rauer, wife of Carlos Rauer, always made a date Roll like this, or slightly varied the ingredients, every Christmas, during my childhood. My Dad was the son of John and Connie Rauer.
