1 c. shortening
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Thoroughly cream shortening and sugars; add eggs and vanilla and beat well. Sift flour, salt, soda, and cinnamon into sugar mixture. Mix well. Blend in oatmeal and nuts. Dough will be stiff. Push dough from heaping teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet or roll it into small balls and flatten. Bake at 350ºF for 10 to 12 min. or until slightly brown.
