1 can fruit pie filling or 2 cups sweetened fresh fruit
1/4 cup margarine or butter
3/4 cup flour
2 tsp. baking power
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup milk
cornstarch (if using juicy fresh fruit)

Directions:
Directions:
Melt the margarine or better in a 350º oven in a deep casserole dish about 7 x 7 inches. In a mixing bowl or blender, mix sugar, flour, baking power and milk. Pour the batter into the casserole dish over the melted butter. Do not stir. If you are using juicy fresh fruit, thicken with a small amount of cornstarch. Pour fruit on top of batter. Do not stir. Fruit will sink. Bake in a 350º oven for 45 minutes or until crust is firm and brown. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream. Double recipe for a 9 x 13inch pan.
