Ingredients:
1 1/4 c granulated sugar
1/2 c light corn syrup
1/2 c water
5-8 drops food coloring
1-2 tsp flavoring (cherry, mint, etc)
1/8 tsp citric acid
18-20 sucker sticks
cookie sheets or candy molds

Directions:
Directions:
Generously oil 2 cookie sheets. If using candy molds, wash and dry the molds. Grease the molds with oil and place on an oiled cookie sheet. If using a metal mold, oil, insert stick and clamp closed with metal clip.

Place the sugar, syrup and water in a heavy 3 quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring with a wooden spoon until sugar is dissolved. Place a candy thermometer into the saucepan and heat to 300º, stirring occassionaly. Remove from heat.

Working quickly, stir in the coloring, flavoring and citric acid. As quickly as possible, pur into the molds. If not using molds, pour spoonful size puddles onto the oilded cookie sheet, covering about 1 1/2 inches of the one end of the sucker stick. Cool until hard.

Store wrapped in plastick wrap or cellophane sucker bags.
