1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 2/3 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs add sugar, salt and milk. Pour into chilled pastry lined pan, sprinkle with nutmeg.
Bake for 15 minutes at 450 º, reduce heat to 350º and bake just until a silver knife, inserted into custard, comes out clean. Makes 1 9" pie

This is Susan Cecil Sturdivant's receipe. She would always bake it and bring it to family gatherings. She always said the key to a successful custard was to not add to much sugar.
