3 eggs,
1 T. sugar,
1/2 tsp. salt,
1 cup milk,
1/2 cup flour,
1 T. shortening.

Separate eggs, beat yolks and add sugar, slat 1/2 cup milk. Stir in the sifted flour, 1/2 c. milk, melted shortening, fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. When eggs are expensive use only 2 eggs and 1/2 tsp. of baking powder.
