3/4 c.shortening
1 c.sugar
2 eggs
1 c. molasses
2 tsp.soda
1/2 c. sour milk
1 tsp. each of cinnamon and ginger
1/2 tsp. salt
About 5 c. flour, maybe a little less

Directions:
Directions:

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat until smooth. Dissolve soda in molasses. Add to the mixture. Add flour, salt and spices. Chill: Roll out and cut and sprinkle sugar on them. Bake at 350 degrees. You can roll them in 1 inch balls too and sprinkle sugar on them. This makes a lot of cookies so you might want to cut the recipe in half.
