2 cakes yeast
1/2 c. lukewarm water
1/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. scalded milk
1/4 c.soft butter
2 eggs
6-7 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Combine milk, sugar, salt, and butter and scald. Cool to lukewarm. Stir in yeast mixture and 3 c. flour, beating hard. Cover with a dry towel and let rise until light & bubbly. Mix in egg and enough of flour to make knead able dough. Knead well, cover again and let stand in warm spot until double in size. Punch dough down in center. Knead into 2 loaves, place in greased and floured bread pans. Let rise again until double. Bake at 375º 35-40 minutes ( or until bread sounds hollow when tapped on top crust).
