Makes 7-8 dozen cookies

1 lb of butter
3 eggs
1 can evaporated milk
1 small cake of yeast (or one small package of yeast )dissolved in some warm water with 1 teaspoon of sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
7 cups of flour
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of baking powder

Mix in given order until dough is smooth. Place in refrigerator over night.

Filling:

1 1/2 to 2 cups walnuts (chopped)
1 1/4 to 1 1/2 cups sugar
moisten walnuts and sugar with milk in bowl

Directions:
Shape dough into small balls and roll out with rolling pin in powdered sugar. Each will measure 3 to 4 inches in diameter. Spread filling over rolled out dough lightly but not to edges of dough. Roll up into crescent shape and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes or until light brown. Be certain to not over fill with filling or the cookies will break open while baking.
