4 Granny smith apples peeled, cored and roughly chopped
1 cup sugar
1 cube butter (COLD)
1 TBL.Cinnamon
1 TSP. soda
1 cup flour
pinch of salt

Put flour, sugar soda and cinnamon in a bowl mix well add COLD butter (cut in chunks) and BLEND in with a pastry blender until small pea like mixture toss cut up apples in mixture and then place in a buttered 8X11 baking dish...bake 35-40 min until hot and bubbly, serve warm with vanilla ice cream for rum flavored whipped cream. I like to make this double in a 9X12 baking dish with EXTRA APPLES....serve warm with rum flavored fresh whipped heavy cream and a cup of coffee YUMMMMMY. a quick dessert for drop in company.
