1 c. sugar
1 T. salt
2 qts. milk
1 stick of margarine
5-10 lbs of flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix ingredients together until they form a stiff consistency and knead. Cover with a cloth. Let rise and then knead again.

Split the dough in half. Place on well floured board. Roll out with rolling pin to 3/8" or 1/2" thick.

Cut with a glass and make a hole in the middle with your thumb or use a donut cutter.

Drop in boiling water for 1/2 minuet and turn over to the other side for another 1/2 minute.

Place on a greased baking sheet and bake at 350º until browned.

Grammie Pidacks taught me this recipe. Aunt Sophie wrote down the measurements and instructions for me while she made them in her tiny kitchen. This recipe is quite large but could be halved. Baronkas are delicious toasted with butter!
