3 sticks margarine or butter
6 eggs
3 cups sugar
3 cups flour
1 cup milk
1 tsp. salt (do not add if you use salted butter)
2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, then flour, salt , and milk a little at a time; add vanilla. DO NOT PREHEAT OVEN. Place mixture in tube pan. Turn oven on. Bake at 325º for 1 hour and then increase temperature to 350º and bake for 30 more minutes.

I use 2 sticks of butter and 1 stick of margarine. This is the cake we always make for birthdays. Goes a long way and is a delicious pound cake!!
