Ingredients:  
6 cups thinly-sliced cooking apples (Jonathan, Rome or Granny Smith)
1 cup walnuts
1 cup red hots
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup, plus 2 tbsp. sugar, divided usage
1/3 cup flour
2 pie crusts
1/4 stick butter or margarine, chopped in pieces

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl, toss together apples, walnuts, red hots, cinnamon, 1/2 cup sugar and flour. Pour into bottom crust. Top with pieces of butter. Break second crust into small pieces and roll them in the 2 tbsp. of sugar. Sprinkle over the top of apples. Bake in a preheated 375º oven on a preheated baking sheet one hour or until the candies melt and bubble up through the crust. Cool completely before serving.
