4 cups oatmeal (quick)
1 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup melted shortening
1/2 cup white corn syrup
3 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
Directions:
Directions:
Mix all the ingredients well. Line 9X13 pan with foil. Pat down flat with hands- bake for 15 minutes at 400º (check between 8-10 minutes).

Frosting:
2/3 cup peanut butter
6oz. package of chocolate chips

Melt together and pour while hot over slightly cooked bars. Cut while warm. Keeps well in refrigerator in covered tins. (Melt chips before adding peanut butter).
