2 cups flour
1/2 tsp.salt
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 cup brown sugar packed
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts
2 cups pitted dates
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 cup butter
1 egg
1/2 cup buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift and measure flour. Slice dates,dredge with 1 tbsp flour. Mix remaining flour with salt,soda,and pumpkin pie spice. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Add flour mixture alternately milk. Stir in dates and pecans. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake in 375º oven 8-10 minutes.
