4 lg egg yolks
1 cup sugar
3 cups milk
1/2 cup milk
3 heaping tbl corn starch
4 egg whites
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbl butter
1/4 tsp salt
baked pie shell

Directions:
Directions:
In double boiler start cooking egg yolks, sugar, 3 cups milk.
beat together 1/2c milk, corn starch,
add to double boiler and cook stirring constantly until thick (about 20 minutes). remove from heat and stir in vanilla and butter.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Coconut cream pie, just add coconut.
Peanut butter pie, just add 1/2 cup peanut butter.
Banana cream pie, just slice banana's in bottom of crust.
Any cream pies pour mixture into baked pie shells.
for meringue: beat 4 egg whites, 1/4 tsp cream of tartar, 4 to 6 tbsp sugar.(brown in 425 degree oven)
