1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
3 eggs, separated (save whites)
3 square bitter chocolate, melted
1 cup milk
1 1/2 tsp. dry yeast
1/4 cup lukewarm water
2 3/4 cups cake flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 tbsp. hot water

Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks, beat well. Add melted chocolate and milk, beating. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water, then add to mixture. Add flour and salt, blend thoroughly. Beat egg whites until fluffy and fold into mixture. Place in refrigerator overnight. The next morning add soda, dissolved in hot water and vanilla. Mix. Pour into large cake pan that has been lightly greased and dusted with flour. Bake in 375º oven for 45 minutes or until done.
