3/4 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. margarine/butter, softened
1 T. vanilla
Few drops food color, if desired
1 1/2 c. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
Semi sweet chocolate chips, candied or maraschino
cherries
Glaze recipe:
1 c. powdered sugar
1 T. + 1 1/2 tsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
few drops food color, if desired

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven 350º. Mix powdered sugar, margarine, vanilla and food color. Work in flour and salt til dough holds together. (If dough is dry, add 1-2 tsp. milk.) For each cookie, shape dough by T. around chocolate chips or cherry to form ball. Place 1 in. apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake til set but not brown, 12 - 15 minutes, cool. Dip tops of cookies into Glaze. Decorate with coconut, nuts, colored sugar or chocolate chips, if desired. Makes 2 dozen cookies.
Glaze:
Beat powdered sugar, milk and vanilla til smooth and desired consistency. Tint with few drops food color, if desired.
