For good fruit salad in winter- try adding a bit of allspice to the whipped topping for an extra zest

For a good peach pie- add 1 T of red hot candies to the pie.

To make good hamburgers for the grill- to every pound of beef add 1/4 C brown sugar and 1 T ketchup and mix well before making your patties.

For a different birthday cake in the summer- use 1 3ox pkg of jello in a white cake mix, mix well and bake and add orange jello to the cake and use lemon frosting. Use raspberry jello and white frosting.

Try adding Hickory smoke seasoning to potato soup.

For good broccoli soup- try adding curry powder for a different taste.

For asparagus- sprinkle with nutmeg

For noodle soup add some nutmeg.

When cooking eggs and if you want the yolks to stay in the middle and not crack- put some salt and vinegar in the water.

For any kind of homemade soup- always put a few bay leaves in with the vegetables and remove before serving.

If you are making something and do not want the onions to show up in the mix use onion salt. Onion salt in great in cheese balls.

When cooking spaghetti- use oil in the water before boiling and the noodles won't stick.

When making jellies and jams- to cut down on the foam put some margarine in the last min. of cooking.

When buying spices- ALWAYS buy the smallest container so the spices will stay fresh longer.
