1 1/2-cup sugar
4-5 T. all-purpose flour
1/4-cup cocoa
1/8 tsp. salt
2-cup milk
3 egg yolks, lightly beaten
1 T. butter or margarine
1-tsp. vanilla extract
1 baked 8" pastry shell

Directions:
Directions:
Combine 1 1/2 cups sugar, flour, cocoa, and salt; stir in milk, mixing until smooth. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and thickened (about 10 min) Add a small amount of hot mixture to egg yolks, and mix well; add yolk mixture to remaining hot mixture, mixing well. Cook 2 minutes longer, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, and stir in butter and vanilla. Pour filling into pastry shell.
