1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
2 cups oatmeal
2 cups chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs, mix well. Add mixture of flour, soda and salt alternately with 2 tablespoons water, mixing well after each addition. Add oatmeal and chocolate chips, mix well. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.
