2/3 c shortening
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c molasses
1 egg
3 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugar and molasses. Add egg and mix well. Combine dry ingredients and blend into creamed mixture. Chill a few hours.

Roll dough 1/4 inch thick on floured board. Cut with 5-6 inch gingerbread boy cookie cutter. Place on cookie sheet and bake 8-10 minutes at 350º.
