3-3/4 cup of sugar
1-1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 cup water
1/2 tsp Oil flavoring (use oil not extract)
food coloring (couple of drops)
powdered sugar (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, corn syrup and water in a large sauce pan. Stir over medium heat. Heat until sugar dissolves. When temperature is 255F take off heat. Cover. Add color and continue cooking. When temperature reaches 300F. Take off heat. Cover. Add flavor. Boil without stirring until temperature reaches 310ºF or until drops of syrup form hard brittle threads in cold water. (about another 5 minutes) Remove from heat. Pour syrup onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Cool. Break into pieces or cut in pieces when candy is not quite hard. Drop in powdered sugar. Cover candy with more sugar. Put candy in a sifter to remove excess sugar. Store in a container in a cool place.
