1 cup margarine, softened (do not use butter-makes cookies crumble)
1 cup sugar
1 egg
3 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup raisins

Directions:
PREPARING RAISINS:
Place raisins into a pan with 2 cups water. boil for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and drain off liquid, keeping 1/2 cup of liquid for the cookies.
Set aside the 1/2 cup liquid to cool.

Preheat oven to 350º.
Cream margarine and sugar with electric mixer.
Add egg and vanilla and beat until fluffy and smooth.
Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and beat well.
Add raisins and the 1/2 cup cooled liquid. Mix well with a spatula.
Drop teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet and bake about 15 min or until slightly brown around the edges.
When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
