2 c. flour
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 t. vanilla (the real stuff)
1 egg
2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º. Stir first 3 ingredients together. Cream butter and sugars together until fluffy. Add vanilla and egg. Beat well. Add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture. Mix well. Add chocolate chips and nuts (optional). Take a heaping tablespoon of dough and roll into a ball. Place each ball 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes. Remove from sheet and place on cooling racks.

I'm putting this in the throw-down category. Everyone has their favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe...this is MY favorite with a glass of milk!
