1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 cup Crisco, melted
1 sticks margarine or 1-1/2 sticks of butter
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. soda
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together the brown sugar, sugar, Crisco and butter. Add the eggs and vanilla. In another bowl sift together the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Add to the other mixture. Grease baking sheets. Roll dough into balls and place on sheets. Press the balls down with a fork that has been dipped in sugar. Bake 350 degrees until light brown.
