1 cup soft shortening
1 cup powdered sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
red food coloring

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all the ingredients well. Divide the dough in half and add the red food coloring to half. Take a tablespoon of the white and roll 3 inches long. Do the same with a red rope. Twist the two together to form a candy cane. Bake at 350º for 9 minutes.
