2 /1/2 c sugar
1/2 c light corn syrup
1/2 c water
2 lg. egg whites
1 tsp vanilla
2 c coarsely chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
in a 2 quart saucepan, stir together sugar, syrup and water. over medium heat, bring to a boil. stir constantly. Boil gently without stirring to 265º on candy thermometer (hard-ball stage) Just before syrup reaches 265º, beat egg whites until soft peaks form and add vanilla. beating constantly, pour hot syrup over egg whites in fine stream. Continue beating until mixture begins to lose its gloss. stir in nuts. turn into buttered pan and cool. Then cut. You may also drop this by teaspoons on wax paper.
