1/3 cup soft shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cup dark molasses
2/3 cup cold water
6 cups sifted flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
1. In a mixing bowl, thoroughly mix shortening, brown sugar and molasses.
2. Sift together and stir in the rest of the ingredients.
3. Chill dough, roll out to ½ inch thick.
4. Cut cookies and place on greased cookie sheet
5. Bake at 350º for 15 minutes.
