2 c white sugar
2 c butter, room temperature
4 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp lemon extract
5 c flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp baking soda
sugar for sprinkling

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, cream sugar and butter. Add beaten eggs and lemon extract. Sift dry ingredients, add to egg mixture. Mix well. Chill for 15 minutes; roll on generously floured surface to 1/8 to 1/4 thick. Cut with a cookie cutter and sprinkle with sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheets and bake at 350'F for 10 to 12 minutes, until edges are light brown.
