1/4 cup strawberries
1 1/3 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening
2/3 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp vanilla


Glaze
2 Tbsp. crushed strawberries
1 Cup confectioners sugar
1 Tbsp. lemon juice

Preheat oven to 350º
Lightly mix together flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Set aside. Cream shortening and sugar in a separate bowl. Set aside. Mix together egg yolk, lemon juice vanilla and strawberries. Add flour mixture, then add strawberry mixture. Drop by 1/2 teaspoon onto well greased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
While cookies are baking, mix the crushed strawberries, confectioners sugar and lemon juice until a glaze consistency. Glaze cookies while warm. Makes 7 dozen
